When anyone passes to the ‘Green Fields’, HHQ have a coffin drape in Royal Tank Regiment colours for use at the funeral. There is also a CD available of the Regimental March – ‘My Boy Willie’. Please contact HHQ RTR on 01929 403448 if you wish to have a drape on loan.
If anyone knows when a member of the Regiment passes to the Green Fields, please inform HHQ RTR, then their name can be entered on this site in “The Green Fields” page. The entry will also be added in the Tank Journal.

He initially joined the Grenadier Guards on 14 August 1963 with whom he served for seven months until 3 March 1964. He later enlisted at Bristol on 8 July 1965 and badged to the Royal Tank Regiment and served with 3 RTR. His service was split between postings within the UK and Germany and he also completed a tour in Aden between February 1967 and August 1967 as well as a tour in Sharjah between January 1969 and October 1969. He was discharged on 22 May 1973 having served for a total of eight years and promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.
