The soldiers with the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment (2 RTR) were praised for their success today on their return from Afghanistan after the gruelling tour of duty.
Following a challenging and successful tour in Afghanistan, 250 soldiers of the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment were presented with their campaign medals at Tidworth Camp in Wiltshire on Saturday, 14 December. The regiment deployed on Operation Herrick 18 in a number of roles: as the Transition Support Unit in Lashkar Gah, the Warthog Group, and as mentors to an Afghan National Army unit. The 'Tankies' were presented with their medals by Lieutenant General Chris Deverell, Chief of Materiel (Land).
